What is Starlight Christmas?

Over the course of the campaign’s lifetime, various sectors and subsectors of the industry have been highlighted and the sheer diversity of talent has shone through, year after year. We have had the pleasure of delving into the careers and aspirations of our previous winners, and learned a lot about the make up of the sector along the way.

From recruitment to regulation, cybersecurity, tribal gaming, affiliates, gambling law, C-suite leaders and everything else in between, the campaign has shown that where roles, companies and backgrounds differ, many of the women we have honoured share a united drive to improve diversity within the sector.

This year sees the return of the majority of our judging panel for either the first, second or third consecutive year! Their confidence in the campaign, and how it’s run is a real testament to Most Influential Women, and how highly it is regarded across the sector, particularly as these types of lists and rankings gain popularity across industry media.

Malta-based start-up is the latest addition to growing YG Masters roster

Darwin Gaming is the latest partner to join Yggdrasil’s YG Masters program for third-party gaming content creators. As a YG Masters studio, Darwin will develop, deploy and distribute its games using Yggdrasil’s technology and extensive network of operator partners.

The Masters program is powered by Yggdrasil’s ground-breaking Game Adaptation Tools & Interface (GATI) technology. GATI is a preconfigured, regulation-ready development toolkit enabling partners to efficiently create and distribute games globally with Yggdrasil. GATI and Masters is attracting many third-party studios aiming to increase game throughput, reach and ROI.

Japan has drawn on Singapore’s IR development model, which embodies a balancing act between ambitious economic visions and restrictive conditions. But Andrew Klebanow, principal of Klebanow Consulting, believes Japan’s IR regulations swerved “too far into crafting regulations and policies”. Klebanow specialises in hotel-casino market feasibility studies, strategic planning and facility planning recommendations.

“As the RFP process played out, regulators introduced additional policies and regulations. As each regulation was introduced, developers adjusted their gaming forecasting models downward. Finally, those models reached a tipping point where potential revenues were insufficient to justify a project’s capital costs,” says Klebanow.

Japan’s attempt to reap the economic benefits of casino gaming while keeping gambling socially contained is comparable to Asia’s dominant casino hubs Singapore and Macau.
